PAUL BEAUCHEMIN PHOTOGRAPHY
I am a portrait photographer. During the pandemic I was alone in my home. I had no one to photograph, no interaction with others. I photographed still life; fruit, vegetables, objects of interest, but no human faces.
So I turned my camera on myself and began with simple self portraits. Eventually they became more complex. I created sets with props. I designed photo shoots. I had only one model, one subject. Me.
I found inspiration in art and cinema.
Some of these portraits are about the melancholy mood of being alone, while others are about personal and political events.
"Follow your inner moonlight. Don't hide the madness." - Allen Ginsberg
