Paul Beauchemin's first major collection of photographs, Icons, had it's premier exhibition at the Ariel Gallery in the SoHo district of New York. He had other solo and group shows at the Photo Space Gallery (N.Y.), The Bank of Boston Gallery,

Art East Gallery (Boston, MA), Springfield College (Springfield MA), The CoOp Gallery (Boston) and the La Luz gallery in Los Angeles. He received a grant from the Polaroid Corporation in 1987. His work is part of the permanent collection of the Polaroid Foundation.

 

Paul is currently working on several projects. He is exploring his own version of the American landscape using a plastic

camera and black and white film. The photos are dark and haunting, giving the viewer a voyeuristic look into Paul's vision of the world. As a continuation of his Icons project Paul is using the human form to explore the symbolic representation of the collective consciousness. Paul resides in Los Angeles where he works as a portrait photographer.
